Awesome Birthday & Thrifting Catch-up

After my computer died at the beginning of the month, my husband suggested that he order a new one - for my birthday!  Yeah! I haven't had a new computer for about 10 years! I've been relying on my old computer, then some hand-me-downs for quite some time. I'm very excited about having a new one. It is so fast and so quiet! Yippie!

I also went on about a week-long trip to Minnesota to visit family. I had a really great time. I went thrifting at a bunch of different places, went to a nursery to check out all the pumpkins and fall mums, played some Super Mario Bros. with my sister and relaxed some too. Awesome!  Oh, and my mom made me my favorite carrot cake cupcakes with cream cheese frosting & candy pumpkins on top.  Yummy!  It was such a great birthday! I haven't been home on my birthday for the last five years, so it was super nice.
I haven't had a chance to take pictures of the things I thrifted while in Minnesota, so I will do another post later with those. For now I will do some thrifting report catch-up from earlier this month. I went to Sioux Falls on Thursday the 6th. While I was out a friend called me to make get-together plans. I told her I was out thrifting and she recommended a store I hadn't been to yet (I just moved to the area, so I'm not familiar with it) & had some very good luck there!
Almost everything I picked up was from that new store (except for the 70s girl sheets, phone and Garfield plush). The Weebles camper is a fun one and the Care Bear blanket is so sweet. The absolute best find was the Dean's Book of Fairy Tales. It is GORGEOUS! I poured over the illustrations for hours already. AMAZING! There is so much detail and the clothing is captivating and lovely.

It is so fantastical, romantic, charming and beautiful! I don't think I'll be able to let this one go, and I doubt I'll ever find another. Once in a blue moon something amazing like this turns up - for $2.00! It is in great condition too - almost like it had never, or only rarely been read (why???). I feel so lucky.

Linking up with Apron Thrift Girl for Thrift Share Monday! Check out what other people have thrifted! Fun times!
